Introduction

Welcome back to your first in-person Programming guild.

I have been told that you guys want more computing content in general.

With that in mind I aim to make use of our first in person session to

  • Encourage you all to disseminate information between each other.

  • Encourage collaboration on a small project.

  • Understand how requirements from written requirements and tests may work in industry.

  • Have a bit of fun in the first guild back from Christmas.

Task

CodinGame Guild Event

  1. Form teams of two to six.

  2. Register with the link

  3. Code to escape the puzzle.

Optionally/Additionally/ Try Something New as a Team

  • Decode some satellite image data with your own algorithms.

  • Tinker with an electronic board simulator.

  • Learn how to use a language with a functional programming paradigm: (Rust, Haskell)

  • Practise coding challenges from companies that supply them: (HackerRank, CodinGame)
